The Department of Human Services (DHS) is in the midst of implementing the Provider Enrollment and Screening Provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) (§ 455.414). The ACA requires the Department to validate ALL new providers and revalidate ALL existing providers by March 24, 2016.
Providers will need to complete a full new enrollment application for their provider type for each site of service (service location) in sufficient time for the Department to screen and approve, including prescribing, ordering and referring providers.
DHS is anticipating a high volume of applications and in order to ensure that your application is processed timely, please submit your revalidation application as soon as possible. This should help reduce any potential delays in payment or changes with your enrollment. If you do not submit an application, all service locations that are not revalidated will automatically be end dated. If you have already submitted your revalidation application, DHS will notify you when our review is completed or if we have any questions. Read more.
Re-Enrollment/Revalidation of MA Providers
This is a reminder of the new enrollment/revalidation requirements of the MA Program for currently enrolled providers. Here are something’s to remember:
The DEADLINE is March 24, 2016 to complete your re-enrollment/ revalidation requirements. This means that provider PROMISe accounts will be CLOSED for those who did not re-enroll or revalidate their information prior to 3/24/16.
- How could this impact the EHR Incentive Program? If your service location closes due to not re-enrolling by the deadline, your current MAPIR application (prior to payment) with our program will also be impacted because it will prohibit your application from continuing through the process until your PROMISe account is re-activated.
- Give yourself time for the re-enrollment/revalidation process. DO NOT wait until the last minute. The current process time is 60-120 days and this time frame could change when re-enrollment applications increase. You should submit your re-enrollment/ revalidation requirements 120 days before the deadline date of 3/24/2016. The 120th day prior to the deadline date would be December 24, 2015.
- Please review your re-enrollment applications thoroughly and make sure the FEE-ASSIGNMENT section is completed.
- After the initial re-enrollment, MA providers will have to subsequently re-enroll by submitting a complete, up-to-date enrollment application for EVERY service location at least every five (5) years.
